Gołąbki (Stuffed Cabbage Rolls)

They are a traditional Polish dish made from cabbage leaves, pork or beef meat, chopped onions, rice and spices, most often baked and refried in a spicy or sweet-and-sour tomato sauce. More info here...



Here recepie to my Gołąbki :)

Ingredients:

- cabbage
- pork or beef meat
- rice
- onion
- garlic
- egg
- broth
- tomato paste
- parsley (fresh or dry)
- spacies: salt, pepper, basil, marjoram...(I used prepared spices to the minced meat)
- oil



Preparation:

Put cabbage to salted cold water. Cook until boiling. Take out. Remove leaves slowly to do not break them. Cool before using. Wash rice in cold water and then cook.
To the bowl put meat, add salt and peeper, fried on the pan chopped onions, egg, chopped garlic, spacies and parsley. Mix all ingredients well. After that take one cabbage leaves and put meat on it, then wrap well. In the bottom of the pot put broken cabbage leaves, then on it wraps and again broken leaves. Add broth and cook for one hour. In the end of the cooking add to the sauce tomato paste.
Gołąbki serve with bread or potatoes.
